Plan your time

Make an appointment with enough time in advance – although it has happened to all of us that a patient arrives in the form of a comet with a pain crisis – arriving on time and coordinating your work schedule so as not to leave in a super hurry is essential.

I always tell my patients that sometimes I don’t know how long the consultation will take, especially if it goes for the first time, a day when I take more time than usual because I value their condition and I also carry out the treatment, if it deserves it. So, it may take more than an hour, take forecasts.

Wear comfortable clothes

In a Physiotherapy session it is common for you to do exercises, make sure you wear clothes and shoes that allow it. Similarly, if you know that your area to be treated is the knee, for example, avoid wearing tight pants or any other garment that does not allow you to easily expose the treatment area. Bringing the right clothes to change before your treatment is a good option, especially if you are very modest.

Do not wait until you are in very bad condition to go to the Physiotherapist

Avoid absences

I have always thought that when a patient is missing a lot due to specific setbacks, it means that they feel good, so I don’t worry so much. The bad thing is when the full treatment is not completed, commits some “abuse” and soon relapses. Physiotherapists set ourselves short, medium and long-term treatment goals, try to comply with the suggested treatment frequency as far as possible, this will reduce the probability of a future relapse.
